The course takes full account of Chapter V Regulation V/1-1, Chapter V Section A-V/1-1.3 and Table A-V/1-1-3 of the 2010 STCW Code and complies with the Merchant Navy Training Board (MNTB) requirements as satisfying part of the prerequisites for issue of a tanker endorsement by the UK Maritime & Coastguard Agency (MCA).
It provides specialist training in subjects appropriate to the duties of senior officers and any person with immediate responsibility for loading, discharging, care in transit or handling of bulk chemical cargoes. Tanker terminal and ship management personnel will build on previous experience and gain a detailed appreciation of the safety aspects involved in the handling and carriage of chemical cargoes..
A candidate must have attended an STCW ’95 approved Tanker Familiarisation Training course, or STCW 2010 Basic Training in Oil and Chemical tanker cargo operations or have at least three months’ seagoing service on the type of tanker to which the certification is sought.
In addition to this a candidate with sea service alone has to demonstrate that they meet the applicable competency table requirements. Verification of this will be assessed at the start of the course and the candidates must attain a mark of at least 50 per cent in order to continue on to the advanced tanker course.

This course is designed for all captain, chief engineer, chief mate, second engineer officers and any person having responsibility for loading, unloading, and care in during the trip, and handling in tankers to transport liquefied gas, as established by the Regulation V/1-2., paragraphs 4.3, section A-V1-2 paragraph 2 and Table A-V /1-2-2 , of the International Convention on Standards of Training certification and Watch keeping for Seafarers, 1978, as amended.
The participant having completed the course will be familiar with the relevant provisions of international conventions and international and national codes. It will also familiar with the project and equipment of vessels to transport liquefied gas; types of ships for transporting liquefied gas; containment system load (construction, surveys) equipment of cargo handling (pumps, piping); conditioning systems load (heating and cooling); systems control the atmosphere in the tanks (IGS nitrogen); instruments for cargo containment and handling systems; Fire‐fighting systems and safety equipment and rescue.
Will be familiar with basic notions of physics and chemistry relevant to the Carriage of Liquefied Gases in Bulk safety.
Will be familiar with the hazard to health liquefied gas (toxicity hazard inherent skin contact, inhalation and ingestion, medical first aid and administration of antidotes).
Will be familiar with the fundamental principles of containment systems, hazard to human life and the marine environment.

This course is designed for all captain, chief engineer, chief mate, second engineer officers and any person having responsibility for loading, unloading, and care in during the trip of oil tankers ships, as established regulation VI/1-1, paragraphs 4.3 section A-VI /1-1, paragraph 2 and Table A-VI / 1-1-2 the International Convention on standards of Training, Certification and Watch keeping for seafarers, STCW / 78, as amended.
The participant having completed the course will be familiar with the relevant provisions of international conventions and international and national codes; IMO Manual on Oil Pollution; safety guidelines for oil tankers and port regulations of general application.
It will also familiar with piping circuits, pumping systems and the arrangement of tanks and deck; types of cargo pumps and their application to various types of cargo; Tank cleaning systems and degassing and inerting thereof; aeration of cargo tanks and ventilation of the accommodation; probe systems and alarm; heating systems the load; and the safety aspects of electrical systems. You will have knowledge of the physical and chemical properties of various cargoes of oil properties. It will perform calculations on loading operations on the ship, repair and maintenance and emergency operations.
The specific objectives are described in each of the units and instructional modules of the development plan of this course.
The course is open to seafarers who have completed a training course of basic firefighting approved by the Administration, and have sufficient experience to their roles in the oil, as stipulated in the Regulation of Training V/1, paragraph 2.1 and sub-paragraphs 1.1 or 1.2. The following is therefore the minimum entry requirement:

This course is designed to comply with the requirements laid down in Rule VI/3, section A‐VI/3, table A‐VI/3 of the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for seafarers STCW 1978, as amended.
The crew will be able to meet the minimum standards of competence in the fight against fires advanced level, shall be competent to take command and organize arranged on board fire‐control equipment, control and monitor the operations of firefighting. Seafarers will have acquired a knowledge of fire prevention and the ability to inspect equipment and fire detection systems. It will also be able to investigate and report on incidents involving fires aboard.
The course is open to seafarers who has completed basic training in fire prevention. All students must be certified by a physician to be in good health. This course is available for those officers on duty who have the aptitude and capacity time required to serve as captains or first officers of bridge of ships of a gross tonnage equal to or greater than 500. Participants must have a deck officer title.

This course is designed to comply with the requirements of regulation II/1 and II/2 of the Convention, Section A‐II/1 and II/2 of the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watch‐keeping for seafarers STCW 78 as amended.
The participant having completed the course will be able to operate and interpret the information available to the AIS, meeting the functional requirements.
The course is designated for both applicants for certification of officers in charge of a navigational watch and for experienced nautical officers and others in positions of responsibility in the work of navigation, such as pilots. Persons wishing to enter this course should have taken training and experience in the use of radar and ARPA and be fully familiar with the Collision Regulations.

This course is designed to comply with the requirements the regulation V/1‐2, paragraph 2‐2 Section AV /1‐2, paragraph1 and table A‐V/1‐2‐1 , the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watch keeping for seafarers, STCW 1978, as amended.
It is intended with this Technical Note, disclose the risks arising from the use of liquefied gases at low temperatures as cold source, and in turn as storage BTU, since its use in that task is widespread, covering fields or disparate activities ranging from freezing cryosurgery. Without taking into account the specific risks of each of the gases and are determined by its own characteristics, serving as an example, the flammability of hydrogen and oxygen oxidation potential.

This course is available to seafarers, sailors and junior officers of the areas covered engine or deck wishing to serve on ships of international merchant marine referred to as tankers transporting liquefied gas. Participants in this course must have passed the basic course control Fire and basic course tanker ship crew‐chemical tanker must have met the minimum requirements of Regulation VI /1‐2 of the International Convention of Training, Certification and Watch keeping for Seafarers, STCW / 78 as amended and hold a certificate of good health.

This course is designed for crews of oil and chemical tankers who have not previously worked on board such vessels or just need to brush up and learn new concepts as established by regulation V/I, paragraph 1(b) of the Convention for International Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for seafarers, STCW/78 as amended.
The participant having completed the course will be able to develop specific duties related to loading, loading equipment, unloading (not under your responsibility), cargo handling, tank cleaning and prevention contamination.
This course is available for active seafarers who have not necessarily worked on oil tankers and chemical tankers as a regular part of the crew but must have completed basic courses in Tables A VI/1-1; A VI/1-2; A VI/1-3 and A VI/1-4 of the STCW/78 code amended. 78 code amended.
